A large Ethereum (ETH) trader is facing a significant loss after selling their holdings at a 40% discount. According to on-chain data from Lookonchain, the trader bought 3,128 ETH for $5.95 million six months ago and has now sold them all at a substantial loss.

The total loss amounts to $3.87 million, with the trader depositing their remaining funds to Coinbase for liquidation. This move highlights the challenges faced by investors who have held onto Ethereum during its recent price fluctuations.

Despite this setback, Ethereum's price continues to hold above its 50-day exponential moving average (EMA) support at $1899.81 within a bullish structure. However, technical indicators such as the MACD death cross and neutral RSI of 49.63 warn of exhaustion near upper Bollinger resistance at $1972.37.

This situation is part of a larger trend of Ethereum whale capitulation at 40% losses, which continues to shape ETH price prediction models amid ongoing market flows.
