Ethereum Trapped Between Range and Rising Staking Rates
Ethereum has been stuck in a narrow trading range between $1,840 and $1,950 for several weeks. This lack of clear direction has kept price action contained.
CryptoQuant data shows that exchange outflows remain high while staking and smart contract deployment rise. The number of newly created smart contracts went up about 50% above its three-month baseline, with contract deployment increasing by 18.5% above its most recent weekly baseline.
The staking rate of Ethereum broke above 34.09%, with over a third of the ETH supply now staked and reducing its availability on exchanges for immediate trading. Demand for derivatives stays muted, with funding rates close to zero suggesting minimal directional positioning in perpetual futures.
