Ethereum Unveils Attackathon Hackathon with $2 Million Reward Pool
Ethereum's security team is launching a four-week 'Attackathon' to test the blockchain's resilience. The event, which will take place every time there's a hard fork, aims to be the largest crowdsourced security audit of Ethereum's codebase.
The hackathon offers a $2 million reward pool, with $500,000 contributed by the Ethereum Protocol Security (EPS) research team and an additional $1.5 million sought from sponsors by August 1.
Security researchers will search for vulnerabilities in the protocol's code, following specific rules set for the competition. Only impactful and rule-compliant reports will be rewarded.
