A proposal to cap Ethereum staking rewards has been met with overwhelming opposition from validators. According to ETHVA data, 99.7% of the 83K staked $ETH amongst validators signaled 'No' on the EIP-8361 proposal.

The proposal seeks to reduce inflation by capping staking rewards at zero if the staking ratio crosses 50%. However, critics argue that this will harm credit markets and push DeFi projects to other chains.

Aave CEO Stani Kulechov slammed the Ethereum Foundation (EF) for proposing a solution that is disconnected from the needs of builders in the trenches. He also accused the EF of having a 'huge lack of focus on the things that will actually have impact.'
