Ethereum Whale Bets Big on Long-Term Upside as Solana Sees Record Institutional Interest
Ethereum and Solana are showing renewed signs of investor conviction despite Bitcoin's subdued price action. A major Ethereum whale accumulated $170 million in ETH over a week, staking the entire position to signal long-term commitment.
The whale wallet tagged as 0x2d59 purchased an additional 50,000 ETH worth around $93.6 million and staked it all, bringing the total accumulation to $170 million. This move shows little appetite for near-term selling and reinforces investor confidence in Ethereum's bullish structure.
Ethereum staking has reached a record 41.9 million ETH locked, with weekly inflows slowing down but still representing about one-third of circulating supply. Developers are weighing EIP-8363, a proposal that would taper staking rewards as the staked ratio climbs.
Solana is also attracting institutional interest, with net inflows into Solana ETFs averaging $8.8 million per day, the highest level since May 12. The renewed appetite coincides with several network developments, including Alpenglow's push for rapid finality and the approaching mainnet launch of Agave 4.2.
