Ethereum's $1,860 Support Shelf Holds Strong as Price Consolidates
Ethereum's price has been consolidating in a narrow range between $1,850 and $1,950 since July 28. The token has held both retests of its former resistance shelf at $1,860 as support, a bullish signal that has arrived during an extreme fear environment for the broader crypto market.
The zone's significance lies in its role as the breakout level on the late-July advance, which saw Ethereum push above $1,950 and print an intraday high of $1,968.02 before reversing at the psychological $2,000 barrier. This rejection defined the current structure and has been the catalyst for the subsequent consolidation.
The Moving Averages have compressed to just $19 apart, a sign that the next directional move will be confirmed or rejected within days rather than weeks. The 20-day exponential average sits at $1,868, while the 50-day averages stands at $1,849, with price currently trading above both.
