Ethereum's Ancient Whale Stirs After Seven-Year Slumber

Instruments
ETH MKR

An Ethereum whale that invested in the project during its initial coin offering (ICO) in 2015 has made its first move in seven years. This investor, who initially amassed 40,000 ETH, shifted a portion of their position involving Maker (MKR) tokens.

The whale had acquired 7,020.84 MKR between September 2018 and May 2019 at an average price of approximately $828.92. The total cost of this position was around $5.81 million.

Recently, the investor moved 3,510.42 MKR to a new address, with the transferred tokens valued at about $4.41 million at current market prices and carrying an unrealized profit of about $1.51 million.

This transaction is noteworthy because it marks a significant change in activity for this Ethereum whale after seven years of inactivity. However, it's essential to note that this move doesn't necessarily indicate the sale or deposit of MKR tokens on an exchange.
