Ethereum's Declining Exchange Reserves Fuel Price Prediction Setup
Ethereum's price has been struggling to break above $2,500, but something more interesting is happening beneath the surface. The amount of ETH on crypto exchanges has fallen to a multi-year low of around 14.88 million. Since July 2025, roughly 6.4 million ETH has left these exchanges, while staking continues to absorb a large share of circulating supply.
The U.S. Ethereum ETFs have just recorded a fresh $216.4 million daily inflow on Sept. 11, bringing cumulative net inflows to about $13.38 billion. This creates a unique price-prediction setup for ETH compared to Bitcoin or Solana.
While falling exchange supply doesn't automatically mean prices will rise, it can reduce the immediately available selling supply if demand suddenly increases. With around 35.9% of ETH supply reportedly staked, further reducing the portion readily available for trading, this is a crucial consideration.
