Ethereum's Narrow Trading Range Sparks Breakout Concerns

Ethereum has been trading within a narrow range of $2,486 to $2,500 for over three weeks, showing little directional movement. Despite some buying activity at the $2,478-$2,485 region, each upward push has encountered substantial resistance within the $2,525-$2,535 band.

The 20-, 50-, 100-, and 200-day Exponential Moving Averages all remain above the current price, indicating a favorable longer-term technical structure for bulls. However, the 14-day Relative Strength Index and Stochastic Oscillator suggest that bullish momentum is insufficient to catalyze a decisive breakout attempt.

Net withdrawals from US spot Ethereum ETFs on Tuesday totaled $24.3 million, reducing institutional buying pressure during this consolidation phase. Market analysts Jules and Ted Pillows have highlighted the importance of breaking above the $2,525-$2,535 resistance zone, with potential targets ranging from $2,550 to $3,000.
