Ethereum's Price Plummets 62% From All-Time High
Ethereum's price has plummeted 62% from its all-time high of nearly $5,000 reached last August.
The decline is not unique to Ethereum, as the entire crypto market is experiencing a downturn.
However, despite the slump, some analysts believe that Ethereum could be a buying opportunity at its current price of around $1,900.
This optimism is based on several positive trends. For instance, Ethereum has been building momentum, with its price up about 4% over the last month.
The renewed institutional interest in Ethereum is another factor contributing to this bullish sentiment. Inflows into Ethereum ETFs reached $245 million in the first week of August, the highest total in nearly four months.
Ethereum's dominance in the tokenized real-world asset (RWA) sector is also a key advantage. RWA spot trading volumes grew 220% from Q2 2025 to Q2 2026, with Ethereum holding nearly 70% of RWA deposits for RWA-backed lending.
Ethereum's biggest strength lies in its network effect as the first major smart-contract blockchain platform. It boasts the largest developer community and user base, and is the most widely used blockchain for decentralized finance (DeFi), RWAs, and stablecoins.
