Ethereum's Price Recovery: A Market-Wide Phenomenon
After suffering through its first half of 2026, Ethereum's price has shown signs of recovery. In June, the coin bottomed out at $1,505, a level it had not seen since the April 2025 crash. However, instead of continuing to plummet, buyers stepped in and pushed the price back up to around $1,911, a 27 percent increase over ten weeks.
Looking back on the past year, Ethereum's price has taken a beating, falling from its record high of $4,953.73 in late August 2025 to its current level. This represents a decline of about 53 percent over the past 12 months. However, when measured against Bitcoin, Ethereum has actually gained ground, with the ETH/BTC ratio sitting at around 0.0297 today.
Experts argue that the decline in Ethereum's price is not unique to the asset itself, but rather a market-wide repricing of risk. The fact that other assets, such as Bitcoin, have also declined significantly suggests that the issue is not with Ethereum specifically.
