Ethereum's Record Blob Usage Drives Crypto Market Rebound Amid XRP ETF Gains
The Ethereum network has reached a new record for blob usage, with its rollup demand at an all-time high. This surge in activity comes as several smaller U.S. spot XRP ETFs have seen significant gains of 16% to 17%, creating a short-term pricing gap between the token and these investment vehicles.
In contrast, XRP itself has only gained about 7% to 8% over this period. This disparity highlights the growing importance of ETFs in the market, which are providing liquidity and driving demand for XRP. The $1 billion in net stablecoin inflows received by Binance during August also contributed to the crypto market rebound, with Bitcoin experiencing a roughly 22% price increase.
However, Bitcoin has faced multiple rejections at the $79,000 level and has dropped below $76,500 due to renewed U.S.-Iran strikes pushing oil higher and pressuring global risk assets. The volatility of the market is evident in the violent squeeze against bearish traders, with over $140 million in shorts being wiped out after BTC, ETH, and XRP delivered an epic breakout.
