Ethereum's Resilient Network Growth a Bullish Sign Despite Price Decline
Ethereum's network growth has been a bright spot amidst its declining price. Despite reaching an all-time high of $4,953 on August 24th, 2025, and subsequently falling to $1,888, representing a 62% decline, the Ethereum network has continued to expand. According to Alphractal data, Daily Transactions have remained above 2.5 million during most of the recent period, with 2.56 million transactions processed at press time.
This growth is not limited to just transaction volume; the total value locked (TVL) in Ethereum's ecosystem has also seen significant inflows. DeFiLlama data shows that between July 1st and now, TVL has absorbed $4.92 billion in fresh locked capital. This influx of capital typically reflects long-term optimism on price performance.
João Wedson from Alphractal attributes Ethereum's undervaluation to its strong fundamentals and adoption rate. He notes that even when the network was processing 1.6 million transactions daily at its all-time high, it is still significantly higher than last year's average of below 1.5 million.
Wedson expects these fundamentals to drive Ethereum's outperformance in the coming market cycle, a move he sees playing out over the next two to three years.
