Ethereum's Tapered Issuance Burn Proposal Draws Fire from SharpLink CEO
SharpLink CEO Joseph Chalom has spoken out against Ethereum's proposed EIP-8363, also known as 'Tapered Issuance Burn.'
This proposal aims to limit the amount of ETH in staking by progressively burning validator rewards, effectively eliminating issuance yield altogether if 50% of tokens are deposited.
Chalom warns that reducing these rewards would increase the cost of capital and harm the DeFi sector. He argues that Ethereum's ability to generate native yield is its greatest competitive advantage over Bitcoin.
The industry leader emphasizes that limiting staking profitability would make it less appealing for institutional capital and real yield across decentralized protocols.
