Etherscan Unveils Identity Cards Powered by Web3 Bio
Etherscan has integrated Web3 identity cards into its platform, allowing users to view aggregated onchain identity data for wallet addresses. The integration uses Web3.bio's API to pull together publicly available data from multiple identity and social protocols, including ENS names, avatars, Lens profiles, and Farcaster accounts.
Before this integration, users had to manually cross-reference addresses across different platforms to find the owner's identity. Now, Etherscan surfaces all of that information in one place, making it easier for people to verify identities onchain.
The data comes from Web3.bio's API, which indexes verifiable links across naming services and decentralized social protocols. This means users can see a comprehensive identity card tied together with their ENS, Lens, Farcaster, and potentially other profiles in a single view.
Web3.bio was launched by Mask Network in August 2021 as a comprehensive identity graph and link-in-bio service for the decentralized web. The platform indexes public records across multiple blockchains, including Ethereum and Solana, and supports a range of identity protocols.
