eToro Activates Crypto Trading in New York After Three-Year Wait
eToro has launched crypto services for its New York clients more than three years after receiving a Virtual Currency Business Activity License, commonly known as a BitLicense.
The platform began offering approximately 20 tokens in the state and plans to expand this list over time, eventually bringing its New York offering closer to the 115 crypto assets it provides in most of the other 47 U.S. states and 74 countries where it operates.
eToro's Head of US, Andrew McCormick, stated that the firm plans to add staking in New York and discussions with regulators on this expansion are already underway.
