eToro's Crypto Trading Volume Plummets 73% Amid Regulatory Uncertainty
eToro's July cryptocurrency trading volume fell by 73% year-over-year to 1.4 million transactions, down from previous years' activity.
The average investment per trade also dropped significantly, decreasing by half to $182, indicating reduced retail participation in digital assets during the month.
However, despite this decline in crypto trading volume, eToro's second-quarter net profit rose 77% to $53 million, reflecting a strong performance in traditional asset classes such as equities and ETFs.
This divergence highlights how eToro's diversified platform can buffer against sector-specific slumps, including the current weakness in its crypto segment.
