EU Adds HTX to Sanctions List, Bans Transactions with European Entities
The European Union has added HTX, a major crypto exchange formerly known as Huobi Global and linked to Justin Sun, to its sanctions list.
This move is part of the EU's 21st sanctions package targeting entities allegedly helping Russia evade financial restrictions amid the Ukraine conflict.
HTX reported $3.3 trillion in 2025 trading volume, highlighting the scale of the platform affected by these sanctions.
The ban prohibits all transactions between EU entities and HTX starting August 23, with a 30-day wind-down period for EU users to withdraw their funds.
