EU MiCA Regulation Brings Order to European Online Casinos
The European Union's MiCA regulation has brought about significant changes in the way online casinos operate in Europe. As of July 2, 2026, virtual asset providers without authorization under the EU's MiCA regulation can no longer accept new customers in the EU and must wind down their operations.
Two major digital asset trading platforms, Bitstamp and Coinbase, have received CSSF authorization on May 15, 2025, and June 20, 2025, respectively. These platforms will continue to operate in the European Economic Area.
