EU Regulators Warn of Impersonation Scams Amid MiCA Licensing Shakeout
EU watchdogs have issued a warning about impersonation scams targeting cryptocurrency investors amid the shakeout in licensing under the MiCA regulation.
The warnings come as financial regulators are cracking down on unlicensed crypto exchanges and service providers, leading to a surge in impersonation scams where fraudsters pose as representatives of legitimate companies to steal sensitive information or assets from unsuspecting victims.
'We urge investors to remain vigilant and be cautious when approached with unsolicited investment opportunities,' said the EU watchdogs.
