EU Sanctions List Adds HTX and 10 Other Platforms Effective August 23
HTX has been on the EU sanctions list since July 23, 2026, but it wasn't until August 13 that the effective date was set for August 23, 2026. From this date onwards, individuals and companies subject to EU sanctions against Russia are prohibited from carrying out transactions with HTX. This ban applies not only to HTX but also to ten other platforms, including Rapira, Aifory Pro, ABCeX, WhiteBird, NoOnecrypto INC., Tradex, Monease Ltd, BitPapa, Exnode, and EXMO Ltd.
The affected individuals have eight days after August 23, 2026, to withdraw their funds. After this deadline, the only way to access these funds is through an individual authorisation from the Deutsche Bundesbank's financial sanctions service centre. This process can take up to three months, and the regulation specifies that the application must be submitted no later than November 23, 2026.
HTX has been blocking EU users since July, but this new ban is a hard boundary that prohibits any transactions with the platform. The regulation covers not only individuals within the EU but also companies incorporated under the law of an EU member state, as well as nationals of these countries. This means that even if the server is located outside the EU, the user falls under the regulations.
