EU Tightens Crypto Sanctions Net Amid Ongoing Russia Standoff
The European Union has expanded its sanctions against Russia to include new crypto platforms and for the first time targeted vessels supporting Moscow's shadow fleet.
The EU's 21st sanctions package, announced by Reuters, imposes full sanctions on 94 Russian financial institutions and the Moscow Exchange.
In a significant expansion of previous measures, the package also targets additional crypto platforms, effectively blacklisting entire operators and creating compliance headaches for EU-based firms that use liquidity from or send funds to those targeted platforms.
