EU Transaction Bans Hit HTX, EXMO, Nine Other Crypto Services
The European Union has implemented transaction bans on 11 non-EU crypto-asset and payment-service providers, including HTX and EXMO. This move is a result of Regulation (EU) 2026/1848, which added the names to Part A of Annex XLV with an application date of August 23rd.
The affected entities are Rapira; Aifory Pro, operated by Sooty Ltd; ABCeX, linked to Nueva Cryptologia S.A.S de C.V.; WhiteBird; NoOnecrypto Inc.; Tradex, linked to Brightum LLC; Monease Ltd; BitPapa; Exnode and Exnode Pay, linked to Arvix; HTX, identified as Huobi Global SA; and EXMO Ltd.
The regulation prohibits EU persons and businesses from engaging directly or indirectly in transactions with listed entities and with persons acting on their behalf or at their direction. There are exceptions, however, which permit national authorities to authorise narrowly specified withdrawals or account closures for eligible European users under conditions and time limits.
