EURC Joins Circle's Interoperability Push with CCTP Expansion

Circle's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) has expanded to include EURC, its euro-backed stablecoin. This move aims to streamline crosschain asset transfers and increase liquidity in DeFi ecosystems.

The integration of EURC into CCTP eliminates the need for bridge infrastructures or synthetic tokens, providing a unified system for transferring both USDC and EURC between supported blockchains, such as Ethereum and Base.

Circle's burn-and-mint mechanism ensures that EURC received on the destination blockchain is native, not wrapped or synthetic. This simplifies integration and reduces operational complexity for developers.

As of September 2, 2026, EURC is trading at $1.16, reflecting a 1.97% 24-hour price increase, with a market cap of $465 million.
