EURC Surpasses €400 Million in Circulation, Solidifying Position as Leading Euro Stablecoin
The euro stablecoin EURC has reached over €400 million in circulation, marking a significant milestone for euro liquidity in the onchain economy. Launched by Circle Internet Financial in June 2022, EURC is designed to be an easy-to-access, widely supported, and consistently redeemable digital asset that can be used day-to-day.
The stablecoin's growth accelerated as it became integrated into real financial workflows, where speed, transparency, and reliability matter. Multiple leading onramp and offramp providers enabled users to access digital assets directly with euros, bypassing intermediary dollar conversions. EURC also became integrated into institutional custody and settlement platforms, including Cobo, Copper, and Fireblocks.
The stablecoin's continued growth is closely tied to rising regulatory clarity and Circle's operational discipline. In December 2024, the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation became fully applicable across the EU, establishing requirements for euro stablecoins around reserve backing, governance, disclosures, and redemption rights.
EURC remains the leading euro-denominated stablecoin, playing a key role in euro stablecoin circulation, infrastructure support, and regulatory readiness. The addressable market remains largely untapped, with euro-area M2 supply exceeding €16 trillion as of late 2025.
