TAC, an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) network connected to TON, has halted block production after discovering an exploited vulnerability that affected its token supply. According to a notice from the team on August 22, validators were working together to implement a temporary halt, which took effect within minutes.
The TAC explorer API shows that the latest block timestamped is August 22 at 11:58 UTC, with no new blocks being produced since then. The team has not provided details on the exploit transaction or block height, nor explained why the issue couldn't be isolated below the full-chain level.
The halt raises questions about state reconciliation, as TAC hasn't clarified whether native, wrapped, bridged, staked, exchange-held, or protocol-controlled TAC balances need to be checked before validators agree on a canonical state.
