Ex-Bank of England Chief Joins Blockchain Payments Firm Fnality

Former Bank of England deputy governor for financial stability Jon Cunliffe has joined Fnality, a blockchain-based payments company. He will chair the board of Fnality's UK entity.

Cunliffe joins former Deutsche Bundesbank director general for payments and settlement systems Jochen Metzger on Fnality's supervisory boards. Metzger has been appointed to the board of Fnality Europe, its Germany-based business, and is expected to serve as chair there.

Fnality is backed by some of the world's biggest banks and is working to bring mainstream assets onto new digital networks. This move reflects financial institutions' increasing efforts in this area.
