Expion Energy Bolsters Oil and Gas Presence with $9 Million Financing Deal
Expion Energy Inc., formerly known as Expion360 Inc., has made significant strides in its business operations. The company announced a $9 million financing deal through an 8% convertible debenture offering, with net proceeds of $8.2 million after expenses.
This influx of capital will be used to fund the acquisition of an oil and gas exploration asset in Eastern Louisiana for $3.425 million, marking Expion's debut upstream energy investment. The company has also committed up to $4 million towards acreage leasing initiatives.
As part of its transformation, Expion Energy has changed its name from Expion360 Inc., reflecting the expansion of its strategic approach to encompass both energy storage solutions and upstream oil and gas operations. Joseph Hammer, the founder and interim Chairman, stepped down as CEO on August 24, making way for Kevin Sellers, a seasoned investment banker with expertise in the energy sector.
