Fading Hopes and Rising Yields Weigh on Stocks Ahead of Fed Decision

Share

Stock futures fell on Tuesday as oil prices pushed the 10-Year Treasury yield to its highest level in over 19 years, driven by a rally in benchmark oil prices.

The increase in bond yields weighed on markets ahead of a key Federal Reserve rate decision and added pressure from oil supply risks in the Middle East.

Crypto stocks took a hit as optimism around the Clarity Act faded, with Coinbase dropping 4.1%, Robinhood declining 2.2%, and Strategy falling 3.5% in premarket trading.

Chip stocks, however, edged higher after Monday's selloff tied to AI slowdown calls, with Intel rising along with Micron and Sandisk.
