Fake BlackRock Filing Sends ASTER Into Brief Market Spotlight
A fabricated regulatory filing claiming BlackRock planned a 'Staked ASTER ETF' spread widely on Tuesday, briefly putting the token in the market spotlight. However, traders soon realized it was a hoax.
The supposed filing looked convincing enough to spread quickly on social platforms, where any mention of BlackRock and ETFs tends to spark fast market reactions. This enthusiasm faded once Binance founder Changpeng Zhao intervened, writing 'Fake' and noting that ASTER 'does not need edited images to grow.'
Aster had been trading in a familiar support area near $0.90 to $0.95 for nearly three weeks, having hovered there since mid-November.
