Fake Wasabi Wallet App Steals 6 BTC from Apple Store User

A fake Wasabi Wallet app has appeared on Apple's App Store and has already been linked to the theft of roughly 6 BTC from one user, according to crypto security monitoring reports.

The fraudulent Wasabi Wallet listing is the 27th reported crypto wallet clone on the App Store this year. The largest reported case was a fake Ledger app that resulted in approximately $9.3 million stolen.

Com Feed monitoring reported that the malicious application presented itself as Wasabi Wallet, with one victim losing about 6 BTC after encountering the fraudulent software. Details about how the victim interacted with the application have not been disclosed in the initial reports.
