Fake XRP Staking Site Steals $8.5 Million from Investors
A fake XRP staking website promised investors annual returns of 18 to 22 percent and managed to steal 3.4 million XRP from 71 investors in just eight days.
The site, which was online for a short time in October 2025, advertised fixed monthly payouts that far exceeded the actual rates available on legitimate platforms.
XRP holders are not able to stake their coins like those who hold Ethereum and Solana can, as the XRP Ledger does not pay validators or distribute transaction fees.
The best yield products for XRP investors currently offer around 3% returns, with any platform promising significantly higher rates likely to be a scam.
