Farage Accused of Investing in Crypto Despite Knowing Putin's Sanctions Bypass
Nigel Farage has been accused of knowing that Russian President Vladimir Putin used cryptocurrency to evade sanctions during the Ukraine war, yet still invested hundreds of thousands of pounds in the sector.
According to an unearthed 2022 interview with Southbank Investment Research, Farage credited the use of crypto by Russians as a reason for a 15% spike in crypto values just days after Putin declared war on Kyiv.
Despite this knowledge, Farage went on to invest £265,000 in bitcoin treasury firm Stack BTC, run by former Tory chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng. He also announced plans to liberalise the crypto market if Reform wins power.
The Labour Party has called out Farage's 'moral judgement', claiming that his actions 'raise serious questions' about his ability to be prime minister.
