Farage's Party Lands Record Crypto Donations

Reform UK, led by Nigel Farage, has received its second record donation in less than 48 hours. The £36 million ($A68 million) contribution from cryptocurrency billionaire Christopher Harborne matches a similar amount donated to the party by Ben Delo on Friday.

The donations bring the party's total funds to £72 million ($A136 million), exceeding what both Labour and the Conservatives spent during last year's election campaign, according to Electoral Commission figures.

Reform UK has denied allegations of irregularities in its funding, which have been investigated by the police. The party claims it would propose a law to boost crypto adoption if it comes to power, including cutting capital gains tax for digital assets and creating a bitcoin reserve fund at the Bank of England.
