Farage's Reform UK Lands Record-Breaking Crypto Donation Worth $49 Million
Nigel Farage's Reform UK party has received a record-breaking donation of 36 million pounds ($49 million) from British crypto billionaire Ben Delo, the co-founder of BitMEX.
The donation is the largest ever made to a British political party and was given to ensure a 'fair fight' at the polls, according to Delo.
Farage said he's honored by the donation, stating that Delo knows Reform UK is the only party that can turn the country around and reverse Britain's decline.
This comes after Cointelegraph reported in July that Farage was under investigation for receiving millions of dollars' worth of donations and gifts from two figures tied to the crypto industry: billionaire Christopher Harborne and George Cottrell.
The contributions have raised questions about the influence of digital assets on UK politics, with Labour MPs considering making a permanent moratorium on crypto donations in response to what Farage called 'gifts' from Harborne and Cottrell.
