FaZe Clan Navigates Leadership Reset Amid Crypto Baggage
FaZe Clan, an esports organization known for its competitive CS2 team, is in the midst of a leadership reset. Finn ‘karrigan’ Andersen, the in-game leader who guided FaZe to its first Major title, left the team in April 2026 after five years.
Karrigan's departure was sudden and not handled well, according to his replacement Russel ‘Twistzz’ Van Dulken. Twistzz stepped into the captain role and is now leading the roster through a transition from online play to LAN events.
FaZe Clan has struggled with crypto-related controversies in the past. The organization previously promoted MLG Coin, which reached a market cap between $150 million and $200 million before collapsing spectacularly. This led to severe fallout and ultimately resulted in the resignation of FaZe's CEO amid fraud allegations.
The team's recent transition has been marked by a lack of cryptocurrency activity, with Twistzz taking a break from CS2 practice to recharge ahead of LAN competition.
