FBI Agent Arrested for Stealing $1M in Cryptocurrency from Foreign Accounts

An FBI agent with Top Secret clearance has been arrested for allegedly misappropriating nearly $1 million in cryptocurrency from foreign accounts.

The supervisory special agent, Patrick Steven Yaroch, accessed FBI systems to retrieve keys and transfer funds to his personal wallets.

In an admission to investigators, Yaroch cited frustration with the Bureau's perceived inability to disrupt adversarial assets, saying 'I took matters into my own hands.'

The unauthorized transfers occurred approximately 10 to 12 times, with Yaroch co-mingling the stolen cryptocurrency with his personal assets.
