FBI Cracks Down on Hamas Crypto Fundraising with $560K Seizure
The US Justice Department announced that the FBI has seized over $560,000 in cryptocurrency intended for Hamas' military wing, the Al Qassam Brigades. The funds were allegedly solicited through online platforms and encrypted group chats.
Agents traced and confiscated the crypto under three warrants dated March 25, June 25, and October 10, 2025. The investigation led to the seizure of domains and servers linked to AlQassam.ps, where donors were directed to send cryptocurrency donations.
Court filings revealed that Bitcoin, Ethereum, Wrapped Ethereum, Tether, and Tron were among the cryptocurrencies used in the fundraising efforts. Authorities identified 18 Tether-controlled addresses and three Binance accounts allegedly linked to financing a foreign terrorist organization.
