FBI Cracks Hamas Crypto Fundraising Network, Seizes $560,000
The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has cracked a Hamas cryptocurrency fundraising network using human assets and seized $560,000 in digital currency. Instead of pursuing the funds directly, the agency infiltrated the fundraising mechanism itself by tracking down servers, domains, and rotating crypto addresses through which donations were solicited for Hamas' military wing, Al Qassam Brigades.
The operation was carried out by the FBI's Albuquerque Field Office with the assistance of human informants. They mapped the operation from inside and identified a server controlled by DataCamp Limited, an infrastructure provider, at IP address 45.134.141.68. The agents then obtained warrants to seize parts of the fundraising mechanism, including domains and servers used for donations.
The seizure was done in three stages: March 25, June 25, and October 10, 2025. Separate warrants were issued in 2026 naming specific domains and servers used for Hamas' cryptocurrency fundraising. The takeover allowed investigators to intercept incoming donations rather than waiting until the money moved to try to recover it.
