Fed Holds Interest Rate Steady as Bitcoin Dips
The Federal Reserve's Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) maintained its interest rate at 3.5%, 3.75%, as expected by many in the market. The decision was made during their meeting on July 29, and it is the same stance they have held since December 2025.
The vote to keep the interest rate unchanged was 9-3. Bitcoin reacted negatively to the news, dropping from $64,600 to $63,378 in a short period. However, it later partially recovered.
New Fed chair Warsh stated that 'there will be fewer signals for the market.' He also mentioned that he may stop holding press conferences, as the regulator should focus on data rather than act based on market expectations. Warsh emphasized the importance of focusing on real economic developments and not reacting to surprise events.
The next FOMC meeting is scheduled for September 15-16, with a 67% probability of raising the interest rate according to the CME exchange forecast.
