Fed Plan to Support Yen Could Boost Bitcoin Prices
The Federal Reserve's plan to support Japan's yen could have an unexpected benefit for Bitcoin. According to Arthur Hayes, the Fed will use the FIMA Repo Facility to help Japan defend its currency by increasing dollar liquidity, which may drive up Bitcoin prices.
Hayes predicts that this method will avoid sharp shocks from sudden yen rate hikes and potentially benefit Bitcoin as a liquidity-sensitive asset. This is similar to past quantitative easing periods, which coincided with Bitcoin rallies.
The Fed has yet to confirm expanding the FIMA lending cap, but Hayes views it as likely. His family office is already positioned in cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ether.
