Fed Rate Hike Expectations Spark Ethereum Price Decline

The Ethereum price has declined in recent days as expectations of higher Fed interest rates intensify. The US launched fresh airstrikes on Iranian territory, triggering a sharp escalation in the conflict and heightening concerns over further energy supply disruptions.

Data from the CME FedWatch Tool indicates that the market-implied probability of an interest rate hike at the September Fed meeting has risen to 67%, reducing the likelihood of rates remaining unchanged to 33%.

Cryptocurrencies typically underperform in an environment of higher interest rates from the Federal Reserve, as government bonds offer lower risk and become increasingly attractive to investors.
