Fetterman Surfaces at GOP Convention Amid Party Loyalty Questions
Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., made a surprise appearance at the Republican Party's midterm convention in Dallas on Thursday, introducing his GOP colleague Sen. Dave McCormick, R-Pa.
In the minute-long video, Fetterman described himself as a 'common sense Democrat' and expressed support for President Trump's efforts to defend American industries like steel production.
Fetterman praised McCormick as a 'great American' who gets things done in Washington, and said he and his colleague would work together with the Republican Senator to advance their shared goals.
In a statement issued after his appearance, Fetterman insisted that he was not switching parties and vowed to continue voting with Democrats if they regain control of the Senate after the midterms.
