Fidelity Bitcoin ETF Sees $43.1M Outflow Amid Elevated Local Stress

The Fidelity Bitcoin ETF experienced significant outflows on July 29, shedding $43.1 million in a single day. This news comes as BlackRock's IBIT attracted inflows of $89.8 million on the same day.

This development is notable given that there was a 7-day streak of Bitcoin spot ETF inflows ended abruptly on July 23, followed by four days of net outflows totaling $526.5 million. The recent outflows have been interpreted as temporary de-risking ahead of the Federal Reserve's rate decision.

The Bitcoin local stress indicator, which captures market stress driven solely by price movement, saw elevated levels before the rate decision. Crypto analyst Axel Adler Jr. observed that there were two spikes in the past three days, with one reaching a score of 52, indicating elevated risk.
