Fidelity Dominates $137M Bitcoin ETF Inflow, But Recovery Falls Short
Bitcoin ETF inflows rebounded on August 17th with $137.3 million in new investments, but this recovery only made up a third of the recent losses.
The majority of these inflows came from Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC), which accounted for 81.5% of the total with $111.9 million. ARKB and MSBT contributed smaller amounts of $14.2 million and $11.2 million respectively, but BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) did not report a numeric entry.
This positive inflow followed a five-session net outflow of $385.2 million from August 10th to 14th, with daily totals ranging from negative $144.6 million to positive $7.8 million. The $137.3 million inflow recouped only 35.6% of this loss, leaving a cumulative net outflow of $247.9 million across the six sessions.
Fund composition played a significant role in this reversal, with Fidelity's FBTC dominating the scene. However, experts caution that one positive session does not guarantee durability and that a broader follow-through from more products is required to confirm market-wide demand.
