Fidelity Suggests Bitcoin Nears Capitulation Zone as Correction Enters Final Stages
Fidelity's Q3 Signals Report suggests that Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Solana (SOL) are nearing historical capitulation zones, with multiple indicators pointing to a potential market bottom. The report notes that the current 203-day correction may already be two-thirds complete, compared to the roughly 300-day bottoming cycles in 2018 and 2022.
The weighted Net Unrealized Profit/Loss (NUPL) for the three assets has fallen to -0.01, meaning the overall market is slightly below the breakeven line. However, BTC's dominance has climbed to 68%, indicating that capital remains concentrated in the largest and most liquid asset.
Historically, a rising BTC dominance usually coincides with other digital assets underperforming BTC. This reflects a preference for established market assets amid heightened uncertainty and valuation pressure. The report notes that participation beyond BTC is limited, and the broader market has not yet regained widespread relative strength.
