Filecoin Price Surges 16% Amid Technical Breakout
Filecoin (FIL) has seen a significant surge in price over the past 24 hours, rising by more than 16% to break key technical resistance levels. The token has been trading around $0.7749 on CoinMarketCap, with an intraday high of $0.8073. This move comes alongside a sharp increase in trading activity, with volume up 338% according to CoinMarketCap data.
The rally follows a strong recovery from Filecoin's all-time low of $0.614 hit on August 18. The token has been showing signs of technical momentum, breaking above both the 9 and 21-day moving averages, as well as its 200-day simple moving average and 61.8% Fibonacci retracement level.
Open interest in Filecoin derivatives has also increased significantly, with CoinMarketCap's analysis reporting a rise to about $88.53 million from a previous range of $60 million to $70 million. The funding rate was positive at 0.0117%, indicating that traders holding long positions were paying funding at the time of the analysis.
