First American Title Partners with CryptEscrow for Cryptocurrency Conversion
First American Title Insurance Company has made CryptEscrow's cryptocurrency-to-cash conversion service available to its policy-issuing agents as an optional option for eligible real estate transactions. This move aims to provide a practical infrastructure for buyers who hold digital assets to participate in the housing market.
CryptEscrow founder John Ioannou stated that 'digital assets have helped create a new class of buyers, and the real estate industry needs practical infrastructure that helps them participate in the housing market.'
According to the company, CryptEscrow's service allows policy-issuing title agents and their clients to independently evaluate whether a cryptocurrency-to-cash settlement is a compliant option for any given transaction. The converted U.S. dollar funds are then delivered for settlement, with First American Title proceeding using traditional title and escrow processes.
First American Title does not accept, transmit, or custody cryptocurrency, and the company emphasizes that it does not endorse or guarantee CryptEscrow's services. Agents and clients must evaluate this option on their own, taking into account applicable underwriting guidelines, transaction-specific review, and jurisdictional requirements.
