Flare Network's Smart Accounts Upgrade Fails to Boost XRP and FLR Prices
The Flare Network ecosystem is expanding rapidly around XRP, even as XRP's price action remains stagnant. While broader crypto market sentiment continues to influence XRP's value, Flare Network is doubling down on its vision of bringing decentralized finance to Ripple's flagship asset through a smoother on-chain experience.
The latest update from Flare shows that development pace hasn't slowed, with the rollout of Smart Accounts v1.3 on July 28. This new version allows users to move XRP into curated vaults using just one signature from an existing XRPL wallet, eliminating the need for a separate EVM wallet, gas token, or manual bridging.
According to Flare, the experience is streamlined: 'one signature, one wallet, and XRPFi made more accessible.' However, this technical progress hasn't translated into stronger token performance. The FLR token continues to weaken, reflecting broader market pressure rather than a lack of ecosystem updates.
