Flare Revenue Growth Surges as Staking Soars
Flare's protocol revenue system saw significant growth in August as cumulative collections flowing into the Flare Income Reinvestment Entity (FIRE) nearly doubled during the final two weeks of the month. According to Flare's FIP.16 tokenomics tracker, FIRE collected roughly $29,400 by September 1, with close to half of the revenue accumulated since May arriving in the last two weeks of August.
The growth is attributed to increased activity on the Flare network, particularly from smaller revenue streams such as FAssets minting. However, full protocol-owned block building, which would allow for more maximal extractable value (MEV) to flow into FIRE, has not yet been fully deployed.
Alongside the rise in revenue collections, FLR staking has also increased substantially. Approximately 20 billion FLR was staked as of August 19, representing an increase of about 82% in five months and making up around 23% of the circulating supply.
